ASP, or Active Server Pages, is a specification for a dynamically created Web page with a .ASP extension that utilizes scripting such as VB Script or Javascript. When a browser requests an ASP page, the Web server runs the code and then generates the HTML for the page that is sent back to the browser. ASP was developed by Microsoft for use on IIS, so when running it on an Apache server, you must use ChiliSoft to get it to work.
